Terms of Service

Effective date: 27 April 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RentIncome Android application and related services ("Service") provided by Sawan Jaiswal (sole proprietor), operating from India ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts under Indian law. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately at support@rentincome.in if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including evasion of taxes, harassment of tenants, or violation of rent-control laws applicable to you.
• Upload or store data you do not have the right to process.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or training data from the Service.
• Interfere with the Service's operation, including by automated scraping, denial-of-service attacks, or attempts to bypass security controls.
• Resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission.

4. Your content

You retain all rights to the rental data, tenant information, photos, and other content you add to the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to host, store, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of Your Content and for obtaining any consents required from your tenants or other third parties before adding their information to the Service.

5. Fees and plans

The Service is currently in closed testing and is offered free of charge. When paid plans launch, prices and features will be communicated within the app and on this website. No charges will be applied without your explicit consent.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Scheduled maintenance windows will be announced in advance where possible.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. RentIncome is a record-keeping tool — it is not a substitute for legal, tax, or financial advice. You are responsible for verifying that calculations and reminders meet your obligations under applicable laws (rent control, GST, income tax, etc.).

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹1,000 if no payment has been made. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data.

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by following the deletion steps in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonable.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the app or email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
